Practice 360: Practical Learning for the Entire Dental Team

With a week of rich, deep clinical programming ahead, AACD 2014 will kick off with a special program inspired by and designed for the entire dental team. Structured similarly to the popular TED talk format, Practice 360 (or the Total Practice Experience) will provide five quick-bite, energetic and relevant presentations. Part storytelling, part entertainment, and part practical education, this program offers real takeaways that will directly affect you and your team, your patients, and your practice.

  • Why oral cancer screening is so important, and how to discuss it with your patients
  • How to read a patient’s body language, and use that language to guide conversation

Dr. Bill Dorfman
Dr. Bill Dorfman graduated from UCLA where he was honored with the prestigious UCLA Outstanding Senior Award in 1980. He then received his dental degree in 1983 from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he was one of the youngest graduates to ever receive his doctorate degree. Upon graduation, he completed a two-year residency at a dental hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1985, Dr. Dorfman returned to the United States and established his private practice in aesthetic and general dentistry. He is an Accredited Fellow of the AACD and maintains one of the most successful aesthetic dental practices in the Beverly Hillls area, where he treats many celebrity patients. Some of his patients include Usher, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, and many more. He is the founder of Discus Dental and PAC-Live at the University of Pacific Dental School, a live patient hands-on continuum. He frequently appears on national television, and was the featured dentist on ABC's "Extreme Makeover," Europe's "Brand New You," and CBS' "The Doctors."


 
 
Eva Grayzel
Eva is a nationally recognized Master Storyteller and performance artist who was diagnosed at age 33 with stage IV oral cancer and given a 15% chance of survival. After regaining her deep vibrant voice, Eva applied her stage skills to communicate the depth of her experience in a unique and powerful way. For over a decade, Eva has captivated dental professionals worldwide. Audiences don’t just hear her story, they experience it. A champion for early detection, Eva founded the Six-Step Screening™ oral cancer awareness campaign for which she was recognized by the American Academy of Oral Medicine. An expert on interactive storytelling techniques with 25 years’ experience, Eva Grayzel brings new business strategies to life through the power of story. Eva’s programs exemplify 'Edu-tainment', using stories that impart meaningful messages, enhance communication and build teams. Eva is the author of two children’s books, ‘Mr. C Plays Hide & Seek’ and ‘Mr. C the Globetrotter.’  Eva’s signature stories are recorded on the CD, 'A Story A Day.'
 

Judy Kay Mausolf
Judy Kay Mausolf owner and president of Practice Solutions Inc, is a dental practice management coach, speaker and author. She coaches dentists and managers who want to be better leaders, get their teams to work together better and ultimately grow their practice. Her work is really built around what she refers to as the R.I.S.E. Philosophy. It's a concept of best practices to help the ENTIRE team RISE to success. She does this by developing leadership, broadening mindsets, elevating attitude, strengthening communication and developing skills to build happy, healthy and high performing doctor/team/patient relationships!

Judy Kay is Past President, National Speakers Association Minnesota Chapter (2012-13), a member of the National Speakers Association, Academy of Dental Management Consultants, and Director of Sponsoring Partners for the Speaking Consulting Network. She is author of Rise & Shine; An Evolutionary Journey to Get Out of Your Way and On Your Way to Success, and a contributing author for The Progressive Dentist, Dental Economics, AGD Impact, First Impression, Pink Tooth and the Observer.

Kirk Behrendt

Kirk Behrendt is the CEO of ACT Dental, a customized coaching company for dentists.  He has invested his entire professional life studying the top dental practices in the world and the leadership that guides them. As the founder of ACT, his vision is driven by the commitment to provide highly personalized care to the dental profession. By creating a talented team of experts, Kirk and his team continue to positively impact the practice of dentistry one practice at a time. His personal mission is to use up every ounce of his potential.

He lectures all over the world to help individuals take control of their own lives.  Dentistry Today recently recognized Kirk as one of the Top Leaders in Dental Consulting in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014.  Dr. Peter Dawson called him “THE best motivator I have ever heard.”
 
Dr. Chris Ramsey 
Ramsey was raised in Jupiter, FL and received his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has logged more than 200 hours of continuing education each year to remain on the cutting edge of cosmetic dentistry. He is also a past president of The Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Ramsey is an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a member of the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne Florida, The Seaside Study Club, The Seattle Study Club, and the Kois Center.

He is also a product consultant for The Dental Advisor, Catapult and to numerous dental manufacturers, which allows for greater insight in to the newer materials and techniques. He lectures nationally and internationally on cosmetic dentistry and the elements needed to create a successful esthetic based practices.

Ramsey serves on editorial review boards for the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and Practical Periodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry (PPAD).
