The AACD 2020 Scientific Session in Orlando continues the AACD’s tradition of top-tier education and social events, while also bringing new educators and offerings to the table in 2020.
Thursday | April 23
Cosmetic dentistry continues to increase its social media presence, and the Instafamous session at AACD will bring dentistry’s social media giants together for a fast-paced lecture and Q&A forum that promises insights to implement as soon as attendees return to work on Monday. Instafamous features four educators, each speaking for 35 minutes with a 5-minute Q&A. Attendees will join Maxim Belograd, DDS, Courtney Lavigne, DMD, FAGD, AACD, Eduardo De Aguilar, DDS, and Miguel Ortiz, DMD, as they explore a variety of topics in a quickfire format. Photo ops with the presenters will follow in the exhibit hall!
MAXIMIZED WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITIES
The AACD is optimizing your CE dollars by maximizing your workshop opportunities. To ensure all attendees get a chance to attend a hands-on workshop we're saving space for you! All attendees will initially be limited to 2 hands-on workshops at registration.
OBSERVATION SEATING IN HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS
For those who don't need the hands-on training but who still wish to take advantage of the education offered at AACD’s hands-on workshops, observation seating has been added to the 2020 Scientific Session this year, in order to offer more room for more attendees to receive CE credit.
MARKETING EXPERTS PANEL
Friday | April 24
A marketing panel course has been added to this year’s scientific session for those interested in improving their marketing and promotion efforts. Moderated by AACD’s Chief Marketing Officer, Michael DiFrisco, CAE, and including four dental marketing experts, this session will offer attendees ideas for social, web, and overall practice promotion. And for those attendees who are contemplating buying, selling, or expanding a practice in the future, the new practice transition course will likely be of interest.
NEW WAYS TO GIVE BACK
9-HOLE SHOTGUN TOURNAMENT
Wednesday | April 22
Attendees can play a round of golf before the Scientific Session kicks off as AACD offers a 9-hole shotgun tournament at the Shingle Creek Golf Club. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the AACD’s Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile program, which connects adult survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence with volunteer cosmetic dentists who restore their smiles.
STEPS FOR SMILES FUNDRAISER
Friday | April 24
Attendees will be encouraged to get in their steps while supporting Give Back a Smile for Friday’s Steps for Smiles event. Participants will log their steps all day and the winner will receive an official Steps for Smiles T-shirt, social media promotion on the AACD's various social platforms, in addition to bragging rights.
EXHIBT HALL OVERHAUL
New in the Exhibit Hall in 2020, the iExpert Experience will bring mini hands-on learning opportunities to attendees in various locations around the Exhibit Hall. These quick listen-and-learn sessions have been designed for key opinion leaders to share their knowledge in a relaxed setting.
MEMBERS CHOICE AWARDS
During the lunch hour in the Exhibit Hall, attendees can hear all about favorite products directly from the AACD members who are using them during the Member’s Choice Awards.
MEMBER PEARLS ARE BACK!
Attendees will also have access to input from other dentists during the rapid-fire format Member Pearl Sessions, also new to the conference this year.
Formerly known as the Splash Zone, The Innovation Station will feature a kiosk-style area to focus attendees on everything related to smile design including 3D scanners, printers, imaging and more because at the AACD we are all about advancement in dentistry.
