Headlining Our Upcoming Conference

AACD Newsroom. Explore the Depths of Esthetic Dentistry with AACD 2027 Main Stage Presenters

Discover new perspectives on clinical excellence, responsible aesthetics, regenerative dentistry, and the evolving art and science of smile design at the AACD Annual Scientific Session, March 31–April 3, 2027, in Hollywood, Florida.

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) is bringing together leading voices in esthetic dentistry for its 2027 Annual Scientific Session, Discovering New Depths in Esthetic Dentistry. Featuring an outstanding lineup of main stage presenters, the conference will offer dental professionals opportunities to explore advanced clinical techniques, strengthen patient communication, discover emerging innovations, and rethink the possibilities of personalized aesthetic care.

Taking place at the Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, AACD 2027 will deliver an immersive educational experience designed to inspire clinicians to refine their skills, elevate patient outcomes, and advance the standard of esthetic dentistry.

This year's main stage presentations will feature Dr. Maksym Bilograd, Dr. Brandon Mack, Dr. Richard Miron, and Dr. Galip Gurel, each bringing a distinct perspective to the techniques, technologies, and philosophies shaping the future of the profession.

Dr. Maksym Bilograd: Mastering Veneer Preparations: Clinical Protocols

Predictable veneer treatment begins long before the final restoration is placed. In Mastering Veneer Preparations: Clinical Protocols, Dr. Maksym Bilograd will present a structured, step-by-step approach to veneer preparation that clinicians can apply directly to everyday practice.

The presentation will explore clinical decision-making across non-prep, minimally invasive, and traditional preparation approaches, emphasizing how to select the appropriate technique for each clinical situation. Attendees will learn strategies for determining tooth reduction, managing proximal contacts, positioning preparation margins, and executing controlled three-plane preparation.

Dr. Bilograd will also address instrument selection, depth control, preparation sequence, speed and irrigation protocols, wet versus dry preparation, and finishing techniques. In addition, the session will highlight the importance of communication with the dental laboratory to ensure preparation design supports the intended ceramic restoration.

By bringing these considerations together into a reproducible clinical framework, the presentation aims to help clinicians move beyond an intuitive approach to veneer preparation and toward greater consistency, control, and predictability.

Dr. Brandon Mack: Communicating with Intention: Using Temporary Design to Set the Framework for Responsible Aesthetics

Achieving exceptional esthetic outcomes requires more than technical precision. It begins with a clear understanding of the patient's vision and a deliberate process for translating that vision into a successful final restoration.

In Communicating with Intention: Using Temporary Design to Set the Framework for Responsible Aesthetics, Dr. Brandon Mack will examine how intentional temporary design can serve as a critical communication tool between patients and providers, as well as between clinicians and dental laboratories.

The presentation will explore how a shared vision moves through the stages of idea, diagnosis, planning, prototyping, and interpretation. Attendees will learn why control does not necessarily guarantee predictability and how thoughtful communication can bridge the gap between treatment planning and clinical execution.

Additional topics will include color theory, the relationship between ceramic materials and the underlying tooth structure, and the absorbing and reflective properties that contribute to lifelike restorations. Dr. Mack will also discuss facial optimization, the smile's role in facial aesthetics, and the multidisciplinary nature of minimally invasive treatment planning.

By placing temporary design at the center of the restorative process, this session will demonstrate how intentional planning and communication can support more predictable outcomes while respecting the patient's individual needs and aesthetic goals.

Dr. Richard Miron: Exosomes, PRF and the Future of Regenerative Medicine/Dentistry

Emerging regenerative technologies are expanding the possibilities for dental and facial aesthetic treatments. In Exosomes, PRF and the Future of Regenerative Medicine/Dentistry, Dr. Richard Miron will explore developments in regenerative science and their potential applications across dentistry, implant treatment, and facial aesthetics.

Attendees will examine the therapeutic potential of exosomes, an active area of scientific research, and explore their emerging applications in regenerative medicine and dentistry. The session will also introduce advances in platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) technology, including Bio-Heat technology, which aims to extend PRF membrane resorption from weeks to months.

The presentation will further explore BioFillers and their potential applications in facial aesthetics, offering dental professionals insight into an evolving area of treatment and innovation.

As regenerative approaches continue to develop, Dr. Miron's session will help attendees better understand emerging technologies, current applications, and potential opportunities to expand their clinical knowledge in a rapidly advancing field.

Dr. Galip Gurel: Beyond the Smile: Creativity, Emotion, and the Future of Aesthetic Dentistry

Esthetic dentistry continues to evolve at the intersection of science, technology, creativity, and human connection. In Beyond the Smile: Creativity, Emotion, and the Future of Aesthetic Dentistry, Dr. Galip Gurel will explore how foundational analog principles, advanced digital workflows, and emerging robotic technologies are influencing the future of smile design.

The presentation will emphasize the importance of looking beyond the teeth to understand the individual patient, incorporating facially driven treatment planning, minimally invasive principles, and personalized approaches to care. Attendees will explore how clinical experience and artistic judgment can work alongside CAD/CAM technology and digital workflows to support thoughtful, biologically respectful treatment decisions.

Dr. Gurel will also examine the role of emotion and visual language in aesthetic treatment, highlighting how a deeper understanding of the patient can influence both the planning process and the final result.

By bringing precision, creativity, emotion, and innovation together, this session will challenge clinicians to consider how technology can enhance—not replace—the human insight and artistic perspective essential to exceptional aesthetic outcomes.
