The Evy Award has been frequently called "The Oscars of Dentistry."
Evy Awards are given to AACD Members or Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry authors who have made a tremendous impact in the dental industry. These award winners are selected by our prestigous American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry leadership, and presented at our annual conference. These Evy recipients were acknowledged at the AACD 2025 San Diego Celebration of Excellence.
The AACD is excited to announce our AACD 2025 Evy Award winners:
Phillip Kemp, DDS, AAACD
The Humanitarian Award is given to an AACD Member who has made outstanding contributions to charitable and philanthropic causes. All types of humanitarian actions, both within and outside of the dental industry, are considered for this award.
This year’s winner is being acknowledged for their continued work for the organization Hope Smiles, a nonprofit dental organization that provides care for people in underserved areas in the US, Uganda, China and Haiti. In China, Uganda and Haiti, most of the care occurs in orphanages and care centers for very poor and underserved. The winner of this award has taken many volunteer dentists under their wing as the organization continues to grow.
Neeta Doss Mariadoss, MDS, AAACD
The jCD Award is given to the primary author of an original jCD article published within the established year that is determined the best of the year.
This year’s winner is being awarded for their article, "Reviving Smiles with Direct Resin Artistry," This article offered valuable insights, including step-by-step protocols, material selection, and anatomical precision. The case is complemented by exceptional photography, a conservative approach, and highlighted a cost-effective solution, showing the author’s practical and resourceful approach to cosmetic dentistry.

Noemi Cruz-Orcutt, DDS, FAGD
The Dr. Nathaniel D. Hill Rising Star Award is given to an AACD member, who is emerging in the industry and shows the greatest leadership potential for the AACD or in the cosmetic dentistry industry in general.
This year’s winner is being acknowledged for their current work with the academy on the Member Relations Committee, their passion and drive for completing their accreditation cases and for encouraging other AACD members to start the journey and better their professional careers.
Saiesha Mistry, BDS, MSc, AAACD
The Excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry Education Award is given to an AACD member that, through his/her efforts as an educator, has advanced the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. Educational contributions can be in traditional educational institutions or through lectures and seminars.
This year’s winner is being acknowledged for their countless hours creating CEntral courses, lecturing at our annual conferences, lecturing to the ESS study club, and developing our online curriculum through their volunteer work on the Distance Learning Committee.
K. William 'Buddy' Mopper, DDS, MS, FAACD
The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an outstanding professional within the academy who has made significant, long-standing contributions over his/her lifetime to the field of cosmetic dentistry.
This year’s winner is a well-renowned and award-winning dentist and educator who is known by many as someone with honorable support of the Academy and its longstanding partnership with Cosmedent. As an educator, a mentor, and stalwart champion of esthetic outcomes through excellence in materials, this individual has dedicated their life and business to cosmetic dentistry and has been a part of the AACD since its inception.
David Hornbrook, DDS, FAACD
The Outstanding Service & Mentoring Award is given to an AACD member who has shown outstanding service to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry or via the time and effort they have devoted to serving as an ambassador for the Academy through dedicated leadership or by serving individual members of the Academy as a mentor/new member advisor.
This year’s winner is being acknowledged for paving the way for many of our currently Accredited dental professional and being an inspirational mentor and advocate for the AACD.
