Dataset Match Your Mindset: Understanding Clinical Failures
Saturday, April 25 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm & 1:15 pm - 4:15 pm
Dr. Kois, the Founder and Director of the Kois Center, received his DMD. from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine and Certificate in Periodontal Prosthodontics with a MSD degree from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry.
He currently maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics in Tacoma and Seattle and is an Affiliate Professor in the Graduate Restorative Program at the University of Washington. In addition, he continues to work with restorative dentists at the Kois Center, a didactic and clinical teaching program he founded in 1994. Dr. Kois continues to lecture nationally and internationally, is a reviewer for many journals and is the Editor in Chief for The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.
At AACD 2020, Dr. Kois will be speaking on "Dataset Match Your Mindset: Understanding Clinical Failures." The ability to provide patient care that yields a predictable outcome is dependent upon an individualized risk assessment for your patient. Unfortunately, the majority of data utilized in making decisions regarding patient care is based on survival analysis, which is procedure-generated and may not accurately reflect the individual needs of your patient. This program will provide a conceptual framework for clinical practice that is simple to implement and will create a paradigm shift in the way we interface with our patients and collect data. In addition, the program will introduce new dental software that will link the benefits of evidence-based science to clinical protocols, thereby providing all the necessary analysis, improving quality assurance, and resulting in a more seamless integration of other developing technologies.
