Increase Collaboration Between Dentist and Technician

July 27, 2020 by†AACD Executive Office

In the past, dentists and technicians did not truly "collaborate." Each had separate roles and responsiblities, and communication between the two was not a priority. However, in today's world†with digital technology and increased communication, dentists and technicians can learn more about one another and help each other to achieve their goals. Lab techs and dentists can each learn more about each other's:

  • Concerns
  • Approaches
  • Specialties
  • Needs

Now, learn more about how to improve the relationship from both sides with perspectives from the technician and the dentist in Improving the Practice-Lab Partnership: Work with the Dentist (and the Lab) in a Collaborative Fashion, a new course from the AACD. Nelson Rego, CDT, AAACD, and Ed Lowe, DMD, AAACD, two Accredited members of the AACD, share their techniques for getting the most out of the dentist/technician relationship.†
