The Latest State of the Cosmetic Dentistry Industry Survey ResultsJuly 1, 2020 by AACD Executive OfficeThe most recent State of the Cosmetic Dentistry Industry Survey of dental professionals conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and Acutim Marketing Research and Consulting reveals that cosmetic procedures continue to bring life to dental practices. The results also show AACD membership continues to be a positive force in the life of cosmetic dentists, improving earning potential as well as creating dentists who are more effective at reaching their patients. The 2019 survey was conducted between January 13 and January 27, 2020, and garnered responses from 878 dental professionals. The survey includes a snapshot of current cosmetic dental practice and patient demographics, plus some encouraging findings relating to the profitability of offering cosmetic procedures, especially as an AACD member dentist. Almost all respondents (97%) were dentists. It is interesting to note that fewer cosmetic dentists responded to this years’ survey (just 24%, down from 32% in 2017), and that general dentists make up 62% of all 2019 respondents.
