Charge

Responsible for online continuing education and oversight of all online education.

Primary Duties

  • Develop new online learning

    • Target Scientific Session speakers for recording to complement CEntral content.

    • Program webinar content and evaluate where recorded content should be placed in CEntral (and write CE questions as needed).

  • Oversee calendar for AACD online/virtual programming

  • Target learning paths for AACD CEntral and tap member expertise to select appropriate courses and recommend new courses (examples: lab technician, digital dentistry, Accreditation)

  • Ensure all online content adheres to July 1, 2023 ADA CERP revised guidelines regarding commercial interests, and that all online CE is programmed free from the influence of commercial interest.

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Assess AACD membership priorities for development of educational offerings

  • Assist with identifying thought leaders in dentistry to participate in webinars and CEntral recordings

  • Ensure members are aware of current educational offerings

  • Ability to navigate and use AACD CEntral online learning platform

 

Time Requirements

  • Quarterly meetings, more as needed

  • Time spent between meetings evaluating new CEntral content.

Length of Term

Two years (in 2022, half of the members will be appointed for one-year terms in order to ensure continuity)

Committee Size

Six to eight members who understand principles of online and dental education and who represent the diversity of voices of the Academy to include an AACD Board Member, an ABCD member, and if possible, but not limited to, one laboratory technician, a recent dental school graduate (10 years out), a URC member, and an AACD CEntral "super user".
