AACD Charitable Foundation Board of Trustees (BOT)

Charge & Primary Duties

Manages the affairs of the AACD Charitable Foundation (AACDCF).

  • Provide strategic long-term vision for the Foundation
  • Utilize personal connections by making contacts for the purpose of cultivating donors and eventually solidifying charitable gifts to the AACDCF
  • Procure charity auction items
  • Identify corporate contacts who have the potential of supporting the AACDCF
  • Assist with Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program volunteer recruitment and act as an “as needed” clinical resource for GBAS cases
  • Participate in your own grassroots fundraising in support of the GBAS program
  • Promote and support the Mission of the AACDCF/GBAS program
  • As intended to set the example for AACDCF support, all BOT members are required to make a minimum annual $500 personal cash donation to the AACDCF. 
  • Attend the AACD Scientific Session and actively participate in all Foundation related activities during the conference

Time Requirements

  • Attend the AACD Scientific Session and actively participate in all Foundation related activities during the conference
  • Attend monthly video conference calls

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand, promote, and support the AACDCF mission
  • Demonstrate previous support of GBAS and will support the AACDCF through all of the following means:
    • Cash contribution(s)
    • Silent auction item procurement
    • Volunteer to restore the smile of a GBAS patient (if applicable)
  • Utilize personal connections to solidify funds for the AACDCF
  • ​Demonstrate previous experience serving on a non-profit board and/or previous general philanthropic involvement
