Charge

Laser focus on connecting with new and rejoining members 
  • MRC members to call (email if country differs) new (and rejoining) members and welcome them to the Academy, while working with staff to assure the new member is aware of all the benefits of membership. Lists are provided by committee liaison only for the purpose of welcoming members. 
  • Lead discussion (or be available for support) during 1-2 of the quarterly virtual New Member Mixers. At least one co-chair to be present for all mixers. If attending the Scientific Session, participate in at least one way onsite, with varied opportunities year to year. Options may include: 
    • Attend new member/first timer breakfast
    • Sit at designated lunch tables to meet up with new members/first timers
    • Eagle eye for First Timer and New Member badges at social functions
  • Be open to helping with call lists or other TBD ways to help welcome members and keep them engaged. This won’t happen regularly, but appreciated when needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AACD member benefits
  • Commitment to making the phone calls and sending follow-up e-mails
  • Must have empathy with new members to understand their needs
  • Be able to share their passion about AACD
  • Must be able to make the time to call 5 – 10 members every month

Time Requirements

Approximately 2 hours per month 
  • Contacting 5-10 members and sending follow-up emails
  • Participate in virtual member mixers 1-4X/year
  • Attend virtual committee meetings 2-3X/year

Length of Term

1- 2 Years

Committee Size

Committee to be led by chair or two co-chairs. The Member Relations Committee can add or delete members at any time while informing the board with each change and the maximum will be 17 members.
